It is the season of giving, right? Well, there are four events occurring over the next few weeks that are real gifts to the industry! In exchange for a little bit of your time, you’ll get a whole lot of value from these learning opportunities!
First, on Tuesday, December 13th Ray Poynter and I will be interviewing Eric Salama, Chairman & CEO of Kantar Group and CEO of TNS on our free weekly webcast: Radio NewMR. The live broadcast starts at 10:00 AM EST. You can register for it here.
We’re going to be discussing trends in the industry and what the future may hold from the perspective of the CEO of the world’s largest custom research firm. This is a unique opportunity for listeners to gain insight into what a true industry leader thinks about where we are and where we might be going. Listeners can submit questions via the #newmr Twitter tag or within the webinar platform we use for these interviews via the chat function. Register now; you don’t want to miss this!
Next, on Wednesday the 14th I’ve been invited to participate in a webinar with Vivek Bhaskaran, CEO of Survey Analytics and Romi Mahajan, CMO of Metavana on Market Research Trends in 2012. The webinar will be held at 1:00 PM EST; register for it here.
Vivek and Romi are both brilliant technologists and marketers with deep insight into multiple sectors, especially what’s happening in Silicon Valley. This promises to be a fun, provocative, and intensely interesting conversation. Join us; I promise it will be worth your while!
Wrapping up the pre-Holiday events is the Great Gamification Challenge virtual debate. NewMR and GreenBook are putting on a gamified debate: Game On! The Great Gamification Challenge, sponsored by BadgeFarm. The event will be held Friday, December 16th at 12:00 PM EST as a virtual debate. You can register to attend the debate here (it’s free!):

We’ve recruited a panelist of thought leaders with a wide range of views on the topic. The panelists will be:
So far 28 questions have been submitted to our crowdsourced program game; the Top 5 will win passes to the MRMW conference of their choice in 2012. There is till time to submit your own questions for a chance to win, or just vote on your favorites so far. Either way, register for this great free debate; it’s going to be fun and it’s on a topic that our industry really needs to get a handle on quickly!
Finally, to ring in the New Year right there is Net Gain 6.0, the annual thought leadership conference put on by the MRIA. The Net Gain 6.0 conference is about innovation and thought leadership, and is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Andrews Club and Conference Centre in downtown Toronto. They are also offering a half-day workshop with Annie Pettit on January 24, from 8 am to Noon EST.
I’m honored that this year they asked me to participate, but the rest of the agenda is far more interesting than anything I’ll come up with! Take a look here.
This is a stellar line up of folks who are truly leading the development of the market research industry of the future speaking at an intimate conference that will allow for plenty of networking and interaction. Plus, everyone knows Canadians are the nicest people in the world; what’s not to like? I hope to see you in Toronto in January!
So there you go; clear your calendars now and enjoy all of the great content coming your way. Happy Holidays!
